  2. RB’s Payment Solutions ensure that payments are transferred securely in real time from the payer to the receiver and we cover the whole lifecycle of payments: withdrawal, validation, clearing, payment routing and deposit.

    RB has developed and operated the clearing and settlement system owned by the Central Bank of Iceland since 1975.  Over 20 years ahead of its time, the Icelandic payment system became the first in the world in 1985 to offer real time payments between all participants.  The processes behind this system are today still known for being the most effective in the world.

    RB’s Payment Solutions offer support to all payment products offered in Iceland:

    • Bank’s internal payment operations
    • Debet Card autorization
    • Direct debet
    • Scheduled and regular payments
    • Clearing and settlement
    • Clearing of foreign payments
    • Other payment services

  3. Deposit- and Loan Solutions

  4. RB offers a full featured deposit management system that manages and maintains majority of deposit accounts in Icelandic banks. RB’s deposit solution has around two million active accounts and processes hundreds of thousands of transactions on a daily basis. Iceland enjoys a high degree of efficiency of payment transfers between accounts, with a deposit becoming available to the receiver simultaneously as payment is made regardless of the channel used (internet bank, mobile, teller). This also applies in cases where transfers are made between various banks.

    RB loan servicing solution manages all the credit products used for financing private individual or legal entities, from loan on-boarding to the complete repayment of debt. Currently the RB loan servicing solution oversees around two-hundred thousand loans, and hundreds of thousands of transactions are processed monthly within the system.

    RB offers the following risk management and monitoring solutions:

    • Anti-money Laundering System for the prevention of money laundering or financing of terrorism.
    • A “FE Register” that is aimed at reducing the lending risk of the banks.  The FE Register discloses a list of loans of clients in the banking system that is used by financial companies to attain an overview of the financial position of individuals who apply for loans.
    • Collateral System for management of loan guarantees and collaterals.  

    A Default- and Debt Status System that enables banks to get an overview of the debt position of individuals or companies.

    2. The RB Claim and Collection System is a central solution that enables retail banks to offer their customers the possibility to create electronic claims that are issued and made available to all Icelandic banks in real time.   

      RB Claims and Collections Solutions represent a comprehensive set of solutions that is interfaced with RB’s or the banks’ online banking solutions enabling the receiver to, pay, review or reject a claim.
